We don’t hand the Institute controls over lightly, specially not on one of the best dates in the party calendar. So after a LOT of deliberation we all felt Krystal Klear and his mixed selections attitude (mirroring that of our own residents) was definitely the main man for the job of Boxing Night guest duties. Here’s some reasons why…
If it’s 80s flecked house grooves you are after then look no further.
Firm fav at the Institute of late is this KK re-rub of Convertion’s Let’s Do It on NY’s Nervous records, proving disco can have balls.
The debut release on his own Cold Tonic imprint was a proper double header and a great example of modern house music, both tracks Tun Valve & Squad were absolutely hammered at TNI. Props!
He’s a dab hand at editing and giving a pop record a more underground edge as demonstrated here on his rub for the queen of disco Donna Summer!
Proper garage vibes & dusty synths on this great remix that’s coming over like Krystal Waters put through a dub blender.
90s house vibes executed authentically on Kerri Chandler’s Mad Tech records.
45 mins was all that was needed to show why this lads as at home behind the decks as he is at his mixing desk, plus P.Y.T F.T.W
Hometown Dublin label “All City Records” put out a gem of a KK EP which featured the lights up one more tune, piano & 909 stylings of “Tried For Your love”.
Finally if you are are gonna touch a classic, make sure you bring something to the table while being respectful of the subject matter like Krystal Klear has here.
This 3hr set will clearly span a fair bit and the vibe will be mighty… see ya there!
